School Profile
Gymnázium Viliama Paulinyho-Tótha founded in 1867, is one of the first three Slovak grammar schools. Since its establishment, it has played a significant role among secondary schools in Slovakia.
During the school's existence, approximately 14 000 students have left its doors. Our graduates are traditionally among the most well-prepared for the university studies.
In the present, our school is one of the largest grammar schools in Slovakia. We have around 500 students every year.
Our school provides students with the opportunity to choose their individual profiles by selecting elective subjects in the last two years of their studies. Because of the high number of the students, it is possible to adapt the elective subjects to the individual requirements. There are no limits in their choice, each student can combine the subjects on their own. We also offer the possibility of studying to the students with SEN and the individual approach of the teachers and a special educator.
We are a modern school that offers a 4-year study programme and a 5-year bilingual form of study. The school's main priority is to develop the creative thinking of our students, to prepare them for different life situations, and to master their university studies successfully.
» School equipment
- The school building has been refurbished, which has greatly contributed to the culture of the school. Modern material and technical equipment - computers, tablets, interactive whiteboards and other devices supporting modern teaching have become part of the school's equipment.
